DECEMBER 9th BEACH CLEAN UP
Come and help clean up the beach, win prizes and help get your piece of the coast ready for your holiday fun
Ever been at the beach to relax and find yourself looking at rubbish scattered all over the sand?
The local council and the Packaging Forum have organised a community cleanup to clean up our beaches!!
The Packaging Forum and local councils are giving you an opportunity to make sure that your ocean swim is rubbish free. On December the 9th you can come to the beach at Frankton and Mount Maunganui and the Hamurana Reserve in Rotorua and help clean up any rubbish to help save the environment, help make it a pleasant experience and help prevent plastic entering the ocean and breaking down to be mistaken for food by sealife.
This is your chance to help. There will be prizes and a bar-b-que for the helpers. The event is for two hours and even just 10 minutes of your time will make a difference.
The Packaging Forum have installed new vibrant smart technology bins where you can recycle or dispose of your rubbish and the bins will know when they are full and need to be emptied, feature signage in multiple languages and are an option for recycling at the beach and all around the city. Let's make the most of these bins this summer!
Be a Tidy Kiwi and come to the cleanup!
