Thanks to the team at The Warehouse on Leven Street in Invercargill for hosting a fabulous event attended by our members, council staff and the local community. Soft plastic recycling bins are also located at Woolworths Tay Street and Waikiwi as well as The Warehouse and Woolworths stores in Gore. Recycle South collect and bale the soft plastic, preparing it for safe transport to Future Post’s facility in Blenheim for recycling into fence posts and raised garden beds.

Whanganui residents can now recycle their soft plastic collections following the launch of the Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme. The distinctive recycling bins can be found at The Warehouse Whanganui and Woolworths Whanganui in the Trafalgar Square Shopping Centre and at the Whanganui Resource Recovery Facility. The Resource Recovery Centre will collect and bale the soft plastic, preparing it for safe transport to Future Post’s facility in Waiuku for recycling into fence posts and raised garden beds; and to saveBOARD in Hamilton for recycling into sustainable building supplies. Bringing the Scheme to Whanganui was a popular move with local residents who have been waiting patiently for the opportunity to recycle their soft plastic locally.
